Subject: International Conference Advancing eGovernment in Berlin on 28 February and 1 March 2007
Hello, The following event, apart from being of general interest to people working in the area of eGovernment, has two additional workshops related to OASIS Standards: one on e-ID and another on Open Document Exchange Formats. http://www.advancing-egovernment2007.de/ During the German EU Council Presidency, the Federal Ministry of the Interior is organizing the international conference Advancing eGovernment in Berlin, where experts from public administration, the private sector, academia, and the political and civil spheres will meet. The conference programme includes workshops on 28 February and forums on 1 March concerning the creation of a European framework for secure electronic identification and the promotion of open and standardized document exchange formats in Europe. Additional key topics will be the implementation of the EU Services Directive, strategies and solutions of the Member States and the European Commission for reducing bureaucracy using eGovernment, and the European private sectors' expectations of efficient, streamlined public administration. During the plenary sessions, simultaneous interpretation will be provided in German, English and French. The working language for the workshops and forums will be English. In the forums, simultaneous interpretation from German to English will be provided. Participation in the conference is by personal invitation of the German EU Council Presidency. Pim
