Subject: OASIS Board modifies Liaison Policy

OASIS members,
OASIS TCs have the option to request submission of their approved OASIS Standards to peer standards organizations under the terms of our Liaison Policy:
https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/liaison#submitwork
A number of OASIS Standards already have been approved and co-published as international standards by ISO, ITU, ISO/IEC JTC1, and other peer organizations.
After receiving feedback from members, the OASIS Board of Directors recently modified the Liaison Policy to eliminate the former requirement that every external submission must be accompanied by evidence of a completed OASIS interop demo. TCs are still encouraged to conduct interop demos in appropriate cases (see https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/interop), but that step no longer is a prerequisite.
Any OASIS Standard may be proposed for external submission. Multiple additional OASIS submissions are in process for 2014. TCs or members with questions about this process should feel free to contact Jamie Clark or Chet Ensign of our professional staff for more information.
Best regards,
James Bryce Clark
General Counsel
Chet Ensign
Director of Standards Development and TC Administration
