We all know the OASIS TC mail is delivered via a list server. List servers, like ours, are extremely reliable and send many thousands of messages a day. And they are sometimes mistakenly thought to be spam agents, so you may need to help get your mail messages delivered or to receive all mail messages from your fellow members. Â
Consider this message - it says it is from
scott.mcgrath@oasis-open.org but you are not receiving it from the official OASIS enterprise mail server -- you are receiving it from someplace else (in this case the legitimate list server). By some simple definitions, that would be seen as spoofed email to be blocked as spam.
Unfortunately, the wide range of anti-spam techniques enterprises use to protect their outbound mail combine with the wide range of anti-spam techniques enterprises use to filter their inbound mail to mean there are no simple solutions. Here is what you might try:
If non-deliverability issues seem related to mail from one sender or enterprise, they should be encouraged to evaluate their systems to allow how to send mail to
lists.oasis-open.org without their tight server identity controls in place.Â
If you are experiencing problems receiving mail from a variety of members you should encourage your enterprise system to find ways to accept all mail from
lists.oasis-open.orgÂÂ
And lastly for those of you still reading but not yet sending your reply email cursing about email deliverability-- please know we are working to upgrade/replace most of the web and collaboration tool-set. You will see opportunities to be involved in the planning and signs of those actions in the coming months.
