Subject: OASIS Telecom MS Steering Committee Nominations Open

OASIS Members,

Four seat serving a term lasting until May 2012 on the OASIS Telecom Member
Section Steering Committee (SC) is now open for nomination

The nomination and election procedures for the Steering Committee members
are defined by the OASIS Member Section Policy [1] and the Telecom Member
Section Rules of Procedure [2]. Any Telecom participant may nominate or be
nominated as a candidate for the Steering Committee.
Any OASIS member may join the Telecom MS at no additional cost [3].

Each Telecom Supporting Entity has one Qualified Elector who casts the
single vote on behalf of his/her organization. Unless otherwise
designated, the organization's Primary Representative serves as the
Qualified Elector.

Please note; if you are the Primary Representative for your organization and
unable to vote during the designated time period, please defer the voting
member role to another employee member by sending an email to
member-services@oasis-open.org, any such change should be in place before
the ballot is cast.

Nominations will be open 13-May-2010 through 3-June-2010

The election will be held 7-June -2010 through 21-June-2010

Any Telecom MS participant may nominate a candidate via email to:

Prior to being confirmed as a candidate, each nominee must:

1. Accept the nomination;

2. Confirm his/her ability to meet the time commitments of the position
(participation in a teleconference bi-monthly, additional support
Activities as needed);

3. Provide background information and a position statement describing
his/her qualifications and motivations for serving on the Steering
Committee; and

4. Be a participant in the Telecom Member Section.

The new Steering Committee members will be selected by the Telecom
Qualified Electors, using the Single Transferable Voting (STV) process -
Scottish Method [4]. STV considers each voter's ranked preference for
candidates, in order to more accurately reflect the wishes of the
electorate. Results will be announced immediately after they are tabulated
and confirmed.

We encourage all Telecom MS participants to consider serving on the Steering
Committee. Please contact member-services@oasis-open.org with any
Questions you might have regarding this process.
