John,

This went out earlier today plus the attachment…. Now we wait.

With an altered salutation, signature and first sentence, this ready for other channels now: LinkedIn TGF group, OASIS eGOV group, elsewhere in ‘rest of world’?

Subject: Critical Success Factors for e-government / transformational government programmes

Dear Andy

I am writing to you as one who has utilised one or more of the UK e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) services we have delivered under the auspices of the Cabinet Office e-government / transformational government programmes.

A process has started attempting to gather in and collate lessons learned and good practices from the e-GIF community’s collective experiences that can be of benefit to others in due course.

We’re focusing here on what are the Critical Success Factors for e-government / transformational government programmes?

The attached document details a draft set of nine Critical Success Factors and asks you to very briefly review these and give us some ‘gut feel’-level feedback. The document also describes more of the background to what we are doing and how it is being progressed.

Please excuse any duplicated requests for assistance you may receive. We are using several channels of communication into e-government communities that will undoubtedly overlap in some instances. One response will suffice.

I thank you in anticipation of your assistance in this review,

Dr Andy Hopkirk
