comments/questions, and Colin's additions. Rather than coment inline on the individual points in
the Wiki, I thought it would be sensible to give an overall reaction by email. My first point is that I found all the points on the
wiki very reassuring! It was always a worry that you might spot gaping
holes in our model, but your headline finding is that it is basically
fit-for-purpose - although with some areas which need addressing in more
detail or giving more emphasis. I agree with all of your points,
and am confident they are already contained within in our
framework. Basically, I see all of the issues you raise as falling into
one of three categories:
There is clearly an interaction here with the work
Peter and I have started on the shape of the overall framework. For
example, on the second set of issues listed above, we need to decide which
issues to deal with under the "business model" heading, and which to
deal with under other elements of the framework. If you agree, I suggest that a useful next step might
be for Nigel and I to get together in London with a white board, and go through
the current version of the business model looking at how best to address all of
these points, with the aim of recommending a revised visual representation, and
a view on the right boundaries between "business model" and other
issues in the wider framework. What do you think Nigel? I could do
a session on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning next week. If you
have time in that window, we'd be able to have a first pass at this ahead of
