Subject: RE: [tgf] OASIS TGF v2 WISH LIST

Neil

The Municipal model is still very much in the discussion phase here in UK with several different groups.  Chris is leading that work and I guess it will be sometime before he has anything to share with the TC.   He and I have meetings on Wednesday so may have more to report on the TC call on Thursday.

At present I would prefer  not to use the Wiki to share ideas.  Can we do that via the mailing list please.  The Wiki generally comes into play more when there is information we are happy to share with the wider general public.

Ok John

I'm still not really clear on these OASIS processes - So does this mean that the Municipal model you are currently working with, is available somewhere on the group online? do we all review it and comment/vote on it, etc.?

Also can we use the wiki to submit and organize ideas?

thanks, Neil.

I think this Municipal Reference Model is of more immediate relevance to the work Chris and I are doing on a possible local government TGF profile through discussions with Socitm and BSI here in UK.   Let’s see how that develops before we think about adding it to the main TGF and Policy Product Matrix.

Hi John

I don`t mind, whatever method every one prefers. The wiki seems the ideal tool for this type of catalogue. I can think of a few contributions, eg the 'Municipal Reference Model'

Not exactly a `wish`but certainly seems relevant to helping build out the knowledge base. So classifying program items by terms like 'Municipal' would seem like a good start.

It's interfacing with these modules is one part of how TGF connects to the PACR group, ie these could be turned into FOSS modules for Cloud implementations..

Cheers, Neil.

Over recent months we have discussed a number of possible changes to the TGF Primer and/or Core Pattern Language.  We do not have a timetable yet for issuing a new TGF v2 but we should start to capture a list of possible changes for consideration when we come to do that update.  Attached is a start and I would welcome other proposals to add to this list.    Compiling this list will help us determine the most appropriate time to start preparing a v2.

We are working on a number of possible TGF profiles, eg local authorities, Emergency Management, etc and we will need to decide what changes any of these will impact on the Primer and CPL.  I don’t have a clear view on that at present and we will need to keep an eye on that impact as work proceeds.

This Wishes List approach is a method I have used on other TCs and has worked well but if you have other ideas, and thoughts on the timing on a v2, please share them.
