Agreed – I don’t see a good reason why you couldn’t reference it.

Well, I can see why you are enthused about it Nig.

There’s some darn good material in there.

It’s a little unfortunate that it is a bit introspective to the British Computing Society (BCS) and the Policy & Public Affairs Board (PPAB) of that illustrious institution!

So while in those respects it is not an ideal reference, I think that on balance, the gold nuggets outweigh the coal nuggets.. and folks will thank us for giving them that insight J

Cheers

Colin

Hi All,

As I mentioned on the last call, I would like the reference to “Internet of Things Working Group: Report to PPAB” (BCS 12th June 2013) at http://www.bcs.org/upload/pdf/iot-report-jun13.pdf reinserted in section 4.4. It provides a useful discourse on security and privacy for the IoT and incorporates some principles.

Whilst these are based upon the UK Data Protection Act principles they are generic and worthy of consideration in any environment. Others have used the same basis in this area but, as far as I am aware, have not documented it. I believe it is a useful Policy Product that plugs a current gap.

Regards

Nig
