Subject: RE: [tgf] OASIS TGF: eHEALTH PROFILE UPDATE
Hi Nig,The reference paper is in Norwegian and will be available soon in English for the CEN-TC431 through Standard Norway( I will fix the link then) In this committee we are struggling with a lot of existing and used standarized technical BUS-protocols (both open and proprietary), but these protocols are missing a common service level Standard (national information exchange model). On the top level of service management we need to use an open and widely used open defacto standard as XMPP handling instant XML-messaging. This is crucial along with a common way of doing functional mapping into the executable service templates. This functional mapping must be done through an open methodology that will interact with all the "open" BUS-protocols available. This way of sharing information is not pushing any particular BUS-protocol vendor solution because until now vendor locking has blocked interoperability and prevented agnostic solutions!
Have been working with different BUS-technology standards for more than 30 years trying to solve interoperability. This kind of Service templates are the "missing link" between IoT and Service management that has to be driven in real time ;-)
This hybrid structure is now being tested out in Norwegian municipalities with success with products and systems from many vendors and manufactures!

Hi, I'm concerned that this might be pushing a particular solution. Whilst, I don't disagree with the need, I suggest that there are different ways that it could be satisfied and that it could be almost a point solution in a world that is full of different protocols and which is unlikely to agree on a limited number anytime soon. I did try to look at the reference but it seemed to take me to the sites front page and a search for 'functional mapping' did not yield any results. Perhaps a copy of the paper could be circulated to the group? His suggested amendment, highlighted in red text in Section 3, is based on his recent experiences and work in Norway. I'll add this to the next TC agenda for discussion before we formally request the necessary template to create version 2 of the Committee Note. Any immediate views before the TC meeting would be appreciated.
