It definitely works with Netscape 4.7 on Windows, but I haven't tried other
configurations.

I've heard about systems like this. It sounds like it might be better
than IRC, which can be very sluggish at times). My only reservation is
that most of these systems tend to be MSIE-only, and I don't have any
Windows boxes.
