[xtm-wg] Ontopia's participation in TopicMaps.Org

Dear XTM'ers,

First of all, my apologies for not being able to attend the
face-to-face meeting in Montreal. I hope you have a productive
meeting and I hope to be able to attend the next meeting.

As some of you may know, Kal Ahmed has recently joined Ontopia
from Chrystal. The upcoming meeting unfortunately collided with
Kal's vacation plans, so he will not be attending either.

Since both Kal and I are participating members, we are affected
by clauses 3.5.2 ("No more than one Participating Member is
allowed per organization") and 3.5.4:

  "Participating Membership attaches to the particular combination of
  individual and organization. Change of employer may or may not affect
  such an individual's ability to vote, depending on the new employer's
  existing representation in TopicMaps.Org, and whether the new employer
  chooses to be represented by the individual. A change of employer
  shall not automatically cancel such an individual's access to meetings
  or ability to contribute work, however; such an individual shall have
  the option of retaining the status of invited guest advisory member
  unless otherwise decided by an absolute majority of the Participating
  Members."

If the particating members agree, we would like one of us to remain
a participating member and the other to "retain the status of invited
guest advisory member", so that we both can attend the next meeting.

In addition, we would like to volunteer both of our services in any
subgroups that may be constituted at the next meeting.

Kal would be interested in continuing to contribute to the work of
defining the syntax of XTM. I would be happy to contribute to the
wordsmithing of the XTM prose.
