[xtm-wg] XML Implementation

I would like to ask the community's help in preparing for a migration to XML
for our company's e-commerce website.  The company's new business manager
has asked me to investigate: 1. "steps we must take to prepare for migration
to XML"; 2. "how far down the road is the markup language", and; 3.
"difficulties associated with changing our dynamic pages to comply with
XML."  I understand that our on-line catalog is SQL scripted.  Can anyone
with XML implementation experience help me address these issues?  Again, my
level of knowledge is basic - I am not a developer.  Thanks very much: John
