Sorry, Tomas, I missed this a while back. The point is that ID/IDREF
referencing restricts you to a single document. You might want to
have the typing topics in one document (the "template") and their
instances in another. In order to do that you need to be able to do
cross-document addressing. Since XTM is in webland, the way to do
this is through URLs, not IDREFs.
