You may be interested in work I did with a draft of the XTM model available 
through the Resource Library link of our home page.  In this project I 
synthesized interlinked HTML pages from a topic map instance.  A 
downloadable working package for MSDOS is included in the report.  All of 
the XSLT scripts I used are part of the package.

You may have been writing XPath expressions without using namespace 
qualifiers on the element node names.  Using no prefix in a name in an 
XPath expression only finds nodes in no namespace and does not find nodes 
in the default namespace.
