Is this a bug or a feature? It is neither a feature nor a bug. ;) You see this behaviour because the id attribute is not _declared_ as an ID attribute. The document does not reference a document type definition, so the browser cannot know which attributes are ID attributes. The fact that it is called 'id' does not make it an ID attribute. Geir O.
