Their current public release has a bunch of scripts designed to
export the OpenCyc world to XML, but unfortunately they were
written to a local system and don't function. I inquired about
this and they plan to fix this in a later release, perhaps the
next one.

As to going the other way, you'd have to convert XTM to their XML
format. Sounds difficult, but it might be doable using XSLT on the
output of a topic map engine. I don't plan myself to tackle this.

BTW, it's fun to play around with the OpenCyc download, and I'd
recommend people of a certain bent do so. It's all Java-based so
it's not too far a stretch to embed it in something. I keep thinking
about my project in this light.

Next time you talk to Doug Lenat, bug him about making the Cyc world
available in something other than a binary format. At least their
previous Upper Cyc ontology was published in CycL (which I wrote a
parser for, as you mentioned). I hate waiting for somebody to write
an export script.
