Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (TOSCA-15) Clarification on the difference between Implementation Artifacts and Deployment Artifacts needed

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TOSCA-15?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=30262#action_30262 ]

Richard Probst commented on TOSCA-15:
-------------------------------------

Very clear explanation! Some minor comments:

The syntax definition for an ImplementationArtifact is on 4 lines while the syntax definition for a DeploymentArtifact is on 3 lines (type is on the same line as name). Should be the same unless there is a meaning for the difference.

Instead of "2. who the artifact deploys", suggest "2. what the artifact deploys".

"The implementations of such operations are typically provided by implementation artifacts." What is the atypical case? How else could this be provided?

Typo: "cannot be processes by the container" should be "cannot be processed by the container"

For clarify, and with no intent to change the meaning, suggest to replace the following 2 sentences:

During import of a service template, all its artifacts are stored in the environment. Next, the implementation artifacts are deployed by the container (step 1 in the figure). After that, the operations of a node type are bound to their deployed artifact (step 2), i.e. the operations are now ready for being executed.

...with:

During import of a service template, all its artifacts are stored in the management environment. Next, the implementation artifacts are deployed by the container (step 1 in the figure). After that, each operation of a node type is bound to its deployed implementation artifact (step 2), i.e. the operations are now ready to be executed.

> The text about the differences between Implementation Artifacts and Deployment Artifacts is quite dense in the current spec. This difference should be explained in more depth.
