Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (TOSCA-17) Packaging Format for TOSCA

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TOSCA-17?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=30616#action_30616 ]

Paul Lipton commented on TOSCA-17:
-----------------------------------

Friendly warning: This issue needs closure. Since Tobias is a major advocate of one position, this will be tabled until June 21st, but at that time, I will ask the TC to make a decision.

1. TC discussion of this can be found in the minutes of June 7th (https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/tosca/download.php/46206/TOSCA%20TC%20Minutes%202012-06-07.docx)

2. Tobias and others who care, could you please help us understand why the "Java-isms" could not be expanded to meet the needs of non-Java folks? Do they have to be thrown away?

> Specifying a cloud application requires a number of different artifacts. In order to allow self-contained definitions of cloud applications a packaging format is needed that contains all the artifacts making up a manageable cloud application.
