Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (TOSCA-96) Use Case: How to convey "autoscaling" constraints (declaratively)
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TOSCA-96?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=33105#action_33105 ] Frank Leymann commented on TOSCA-96: ------------------------------------- I might miss the point: isn't this a paradigmatic application of policies? You describe a policy the specifies autoscaling requirements. A TOSCA container must understand this requirement in order to process the Service Template, or is must reject its processing. A policy is declarative by nature and would, thus, fulfill the corresponding requirement. > Use Case: How to convey "autoscaling" constraints (declaratively) > ----------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: TOSCA-96 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TOSCA-96 > Project: OASIS Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA) TC > Issue Type: Task > Components: Interop > Environment: Use case for development against TOSCA-v1.0-cs01. > Reporter: Matthew Rutkowski > Assignee: Derek Palma > > TBD - What is the criteria for scaling. Is it possible to scale the DB tier? Is it clustered? > Notes: > Matt: 2 granular use cases were listed in the document: > 1) scaling allowed or not (by node type and/or node type properties?) > 2) how to describe a cluster (of DBs). > This issue will serve to develop the first use case. > Example: > TBD > Reference: > https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/tosca-interop/download.php/48514/ConsiderationsFor2TierWebApplications.docx -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
