Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (TOSCA-186) DEFER - model composition (Nested templates)

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TOSCA-186?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=51942#comment-51942 ]

Avi Vachnis commented on TOSCA-186:
-----------------------------------

I'm really glad of this fruitful discussion.
In addition to Shitao's comment, I've posted this doc: https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=54637&wg_abbrev=tosca
as part our effort in networking ad-hoc group to map the ETSI NFV entities to TOSCA semantics.
As mentioned, service composition (expressed in a NSD file) is a key concept which want to address in TOSCA as well.
Is it possible for one of you to sketch a template that complies with the topology described in the attached diagram?

BTW, can we remove the DEFER remark on this issue as it seems very hot topic which many of us would love to see progressing as soon as possible?

> In TOSCA 1.0, it defined the composition of service templates(clause 3.5), which allow a service template to be used as a node template in another service template.
> In many cases, this is very important and useful feature, especially when describe the complicated service.
> However, in TOSCA-simple-profile-YAML, it seems that this feature does not support.
