        Hy everyone, this is my attempt to apply my understanding to Chris's slide in order to facilitate communication.

The main change is 1) my different understanding of the up-down flow -- rather than "north-bound" and "south-bound" APIs I see it as composition vs. decomposition, and 2) I repeated the exercise for two slides in order to show how the concept could work with different modalities.

We can go over it on Tuesday.
