I'm starting to think that GitHub discussions might not be a good tool for us. If people on this mailing list are not "starring" the project or subscribing to discussions then they will not receive updates on new comments.

I don't think we always need to mirror GitHub discussions on this mailing list, but since this is the first time we've created a discussion there I wanted to make sure the mailing list folk are included.
