Hi
all,
My paragraph on my
interest in Translation Web Services is below.
Peter.
Like most people
involved in this group my interest is a mixture of finding the subject
interesting and having started to work on projects which involve Web
Services. The article in the document, 'Web Services for the Translation
Industry' which was prepared by the TC proposers has a case study of a project
that Bowne Global Solutions has worked on together with IBM. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/trans-ws/#documents .
I think it
is important for our industry to agree a standard for Web Services. Having this
makes using Web Services a very attractive proposition for anyone
purchasing translation and a necessity for vendors. Together with XML formats
such as XLIFF it provides the building blocks for automation and improving
quality and speed of translation.
