Minutes:
Minutes taken by Arle

Attending: Stephen Flinter, Andrzej Zydron, Arle Lommel, Gérard Cattan de Bois

Tony and Peter sent apologies as they were unable to attend.

Stephen moved that the minutes of the last meeting be accepted and Gérard seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The following items of business were suggested:

1. Status of WSDL draft. Nothing has been changed since the last meetings, with the exception that Andrzej has supplied a schema for MIME types, which Stephen will integrate into the current draft. No one in attendance could report on WSDL testing, but Gérard promised to find out what Microsoft had found in internal tests by the next meeting. Andrzej stated that he wants to test WSDL, but won't have time until June, and then suggested that WSDL be tested by BigWord and that Stephen contact Ian Harris.

2. Status and Current Stage: These topics were discussed based on a list in an e-mail Peter sent to the group. It was observed that there was some uncertainty about the relationship of the two lists, but it was felt that Status would refer to a job's overall position, while Current Stage could further define where a job was within a Status category. It was also suggested that the semantics of the categories be better specified and that a user definable category be added to allow extensions as appropriate.
Andrzej said that he would make a schema of the lists, but Gérard suggested that he wait until the group had time to examine the lists more closely and suggest changes.

3. UDDI: The group agreed that it needs to find out what is involved in submitting the final specification for inclusion in UDDI registries. The following questions were raised: What do we need to do to get into UDDI?
What are the pieces? What do we need to do to make sure that all the pieces can be published in UDDI? How do we reference UDDI in our spec? Gérard suggested we contact UDDI group to ask for a FAQ since other groups surely have dealt with the same issues, and he agreed to make contact.

4. Face-to-face meeting: A face-to-face meeting is tentatively planned for late April (most likely April 29 and 30). The possibility of holding two separate meetings (one in the U.S. and one in Dublin) was discussed since Gérard would not be able to attend a Dublin meeting, but it was decided that it would probably not make sense as only Arle and Gérard are based in the U.S. Instead it was suggested that a call-in option be offered to those in the U.S. who could then join by phone for the afternoon portions on each day.

The LISA administration has also issued a standing invitation to the group to host face-to-face meetings at any LISA event coming up, but the group felt that the June time frame for LISA's San Francisco was later than they wanted to go.

5. Additional business: Arle asked if someone in the group would be willing to report on the progress of the committee in the Globalization Insider (LISA Newsletter) for the May issue, and Stephen suggested that the LISA editor contact Peter to make plans for such an article.
