Subject: RE: [trust-el] Open authentication project
Hi Abbie, I’m very familiar with the OATH initiative. What I don’t understand is the relationship between the OATH authentication technologies with this Trust-Elevation TC. Is the aim for this TC to adopt OATH as our 3rd deliverable item? > The third deliverable will be an "Electronic Identity
> Credential Trust Elevation Methods Protocol" specification
> that recommends particular methods as satisfying defined
> levels of assurance for elevating trust in an electronic
> identity credential to assure the submitter's identity
> sufficiently to support elevation between each pair
> of assurance levels to transact business where material
> amounts of economic value or personally identifiable

On Behalf Of Mangold, Kevin C. OATH and OAuth are two different things. From:
trust-el@lists.oasis-open.org
[mailto:trust-el@lists.oasis-open.org] On Behalf Of Alterman, Peter (NIH/CIT) [E] OAuth is like a high voltage/low current electron stream. Lots of potential, very little content. Give you a tingle but not much more.

All I am wondering what the group think about the open authentication work for our protocol deliverable See http://www.openauthentication.org/ do we need any LS relationship with them Do we have an opinion on their work going forward Regards Abbie This message w/attachments (message) is intended solely for the use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain information that is privileged, confidential or proprietary.
