Subject: CLSC Teleconference 2003-12-17 Minutes
Minutes - CLSC Teleconference 2003-12-17 10:30PST/13:30EST/18:30UTC Roll: Marty Burns, Tony Coates, Anne Hendry, G. Ken Holman, Alan Stitzer 1. Deliverables - after some discussion decided as a group that our deliverables would be: - set of requirements for expressing information in code lists - data model for code lists - supply NDRSC with sample W3C Schema fragments from which NDRSC can develop code list rules to be used by TTSC - incorporate final UBL W3C Schema fragments from TTSC in CLSC report as example instantiations of the data model - there was some discussion as to whether the W3C Schema fragments should be informative, normative, an annex or a full section - decided that the fragments would be normative and not informative - though the actual fragments used would be generated by TTSC as TTSC's responsibility - any schema fragments created by the group are input to NDRSC and TTSC as examples upon which one can base rules and tools, but CLSC will only publish fragments that are officially produced by TTSC - discussion concluded with two different opinions from which the group must choose: - (1) - it is section 4 of the document with the same level of attention as the model (and incorporated into the title of the specification) - (2) - it is annex A of the document as an example instantiation of the model, with somewhat less attention (and not incorporated into the title of the specification) - each opinion was expressed with conviction, so it will be up to other members to voice their opinions so we can get a feeling of what the majority of members think 2. Presentation by Marty - need for requirements - gleaned requirements from different sources - collection started as Requirements for Code Lists.doc - found inside ZIP file named MJBToUBL20031209.zip - Marty will incorporate requirements from Tony's data model - posted earlier as draft-coates-codeListDataModels-0p1.sxw - Ken will post a requirement addressed by Gunther's namespace URI - structure of the committee final report document - some NIST concepts and examples incorporated in documents - posted earlier as wd-ublndrsc-codelist-05a_mjb_20031207.doc - found inside ZIP file named MJBToUBL20031209.zip - later posted as nistToUBLcrudeDraftEditOf-codelist-05-20030725.doc - found inside ZIP file named nistTOUbl20031119.zip - will fold requirements into this document - members are asked to review requirements and post any new requirements they can think of - Marty "owns" the document for now and will make the changes and post them when he can for our review (please don't let this fall entirely on his shoulders as we need to share the workload ... please read what he posts and offer input and feedback) 3. Presentation by Tony - submission posted with sample scripts to go to schema from the data model - posted earlier as draft-coates-codeListDataModels-0p1.sxw - no response yet from any members, Tony is looking for feedback Meeting concluded after an hour. .....................
