INSTRUCTIONS FOR IMPLEMENTERS Developers of software for electronic commerce are invited to experiment with the XML library schema provided in the review package. The schema is also suitable for constructing payloads to be used in testing business-quality messaging frameworks such as ebXML Messaging. Developers should note that this review package represents work in progress. There are several issues (listed in the release notes) that remain unresolved within the UBL team. Indeed, your comments will provide valuable input into these discussions. Therefore, the XML Schema in this package is subject to change and should not be used as the basis for commercial software during the current review cycle. Position papers relating to these discussions can be found on the UBL Naming and Design Rules site at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ubl/ndrsc and the UBL Library Content web site at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ubl/lcsc TIMELINE Comments received on or before 25 September 2002 will be processed during the meeting of the UBL Technical Committee 1-4 October 2002 in Burlington, Massachusetts. Information about that meeting can be found at http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl-comment/200208/msg00008.html Persons wishing to join the OASIS UBL TC or to attend the meeting in Burlington should contact the UBL TC chair, Jon Bosak <jon.bosak@sun.com>. The results of this review cycle will be incorporated into a stable schema suitable for implementation following the meeting of the UBL Technical Committee scheduled for 18-22 November 2002 in Menlo Park, California. Additional example instances of documents conforming to the schema in the current review package are expected to appear within a week or two of this announcement.
