use of UBL

hi,
   here is my scenario.

i have 3 applications working independently and iam trying to build
an integration platform which works on these 3 apps. so i am using UBL
specs to make the data out of these 3 apps to be universal. one of
these 3 is an accounting package.

am i using UBL  in the right way. please comment upon this.
