it was intended that any use of digital signatures for UBL documents would be undertaken by the messaging service used, such as ebXML ebMS. however a proposal to include the digital signatures of documents referenced within a UBL document has been submitted by the Certificate of Origin project as part of the UBL 1.1 enhancements.
