Subject: Fwd: [ubl] Public Review of UBL Guidelines for Customization v1.0

Hello ubl-dev,

An earlier version of the UBL Guidelines for Customization went
out for review last year. It's been extensively revised since
then (to some extent in response to comments), and now we'd like
everyone to take another look. This should be of interest not
just to UBL developers but to people concerned with the general
subject of controlled schema modification/derivation.

Just one request: We want to hear from everyone, but please,
please, use the comment form linked from the UBL TC page (see
directions below) to give us your input. You can feel free to
copy your comment to this list (or any other list), but for legal
reasons we can't take formal cognizance of anything that does not
come in via the comment form, so seeing a useful comment here that
does not also come in through the form puts us in a real bind.
Thanks!

Jon

To OASIS members, Public Announce Lists:

The OASIS Universal Business Language (UBL) TC has recently approved
the following specification as a Committee Draft and approved the
package for public review:

UBL Guidelines for Customization Version 1.0

The public review starts today, 29 April 2009, and ends 28 June 2009.
This is an open invitation to comment. We strongly encourage feedback
from potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or
not, for the sake of improving the interoperability and quality of
OASIS work. Please feel free to distribute this announcement within
your organization and to other appropriate mail lists.

More non-normative information about the specification and the
technical committee may be found at the public home page of the TC at:
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=ubl.
Comments may be submitted to the TC by any person through the use of
the OASIS TC Comment Facility which can be located via the button
marked "Send A Comment" at the top of that page, or directly at:
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=ubl.

Submitted comments (for this work as well as other works of that TC)
are publicly archived and can be viewed at:
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl-comment/. All comments
submitted to OASIS are subject to the OASIS Feedback License, which
ensures that the feedback you provide carries the same obligations at
least as the obligations of the TC members.

The specification document and related files are available here:

This is the second Public Review for this document; a previous review
was conducted from 30 September 2008 through 29 November 2008 (http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200809/msg00010.html
). The document has been edited extensively since the previous review
and therefore the TC has requested that it be submitted for another
full 60-day cycle.

OASIS and the UBL TC welcome your comments.
