Subject: RE: [ubl-dev] UBL Invoice: Where to put SEPA Creditor ID?

John,

My first thought:

As this is an identifier that is attached to the legal entity that is initiating the SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) transaction it is an attribute/identifier of a party. So I would place it as a party identification ID signifying that it is a creditor ID.

For example: cac:SellerSupplierParty\cac:Party\cac:PartyIdentification\cbc:ID with a schemeName “CreditorID” or something signifying who has issued that creditorID)

But you could also argue that it should be contained somewhere in the PaymentMeans section of the invoice where you show that you expect this Invoice to be paid via SDD and provide all the details there. But currently there is no real place to put all that information in that element. (so that might be something we can work on to expand the PaymentMeans element with additional information, and for the time being you could think about using an extension to provide this information if you like to provide it there).

As a general thought we might need to look at how to incorporate these kind of financial information in UBL .. so a link between ISO20022 elements and UBL financial elements (ie PaymentMeans or other elements with financial information)

Onderwerp: [ubl-dev] UBL Invoice: Where to put SEPA Creditor ID?

Hi,

the new European payment regulations (SEPA or "Single Euro Payments Area") require sellers (ie, payees) to officially obtain a so-called "creditor identifier" and cite this id on all invoices (only if they directly debit the payers bank account, "SEPA Direct Debit"). This creditor id identifies the creditor as an organisation, independent from their bank account(s). Lexically, it's similar to an IBAN.

Where is the correct place to put this creditor it into an UBL invoice document?

More information on creditor ids (sorry, German only): http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gl%C3%A4ubiger-Identifikationsnummer

(Note that this is different from the "Creditor Reference" that has been discussed on this list before.)

Thanks,

John
