Subject: Committee document editing and publishing guidelines

Further to the "20030417-Action2" action item in the last minutes, I have
posted the following compressed file:

   http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/1810/fpscdoc-20030429-2000z.zip

View the document's HTML as you would any other HTML document and you'll
see my proposed documentation guidelines and processes, including a sample
workflow that is what I personally use on my system.

The thought is that we author in DocBook XML to follow OASIS committee
guidelines, but that a committee specific massaging happens to produce an
"enhanced" instance that is still pure DocBook, but the end result saves
effort on behalf of the author. The original information isn't wrong, or
visibly modified, it is just "enhanced" for more utility in the final result.

By doing it this way, we don't have to rewrite the enhancements in all of
the possible stylesheets, we just enhance a DocBook instance into a DocBook
instance and all existing DocBook stylesheets can be used without modification.

The document's HTML was produced from its supplied XML using the supplied
XSLT, so you should be able to reproduce the enhancement of the document as
I did to publish it.

Please let me know if you feel any changes are needed, or if you think we
can adopt these document creation guidelines at our next teleconference.

Thanks!
