Subject: Re: [ubl-lcsc] Re: [ubl] Collaboration Support

For those of you who are facing firewall problems, while trying to access via NetMeeting or VNC,

1. A easy solution is to just connect through a commercial (consumer type) dialup ISP account (i.e. don't
dial back into your company network, which probably is still behind the same firewall that gave us trouble
with the LAN connection in the first place).

2. If you have the resources to reconfigure the company firewalls, and REALLY want to do it, the short of
it is --

(a1) For NetMeeting, the firewall must be configured to do the following:

Pass through primary TCP connections on ports 389, 522, 1503, 1720, and 1731.
Pass through secondary TCP and UDP connections on dynamically assigned ports (1024-65535).

(b1) For VNC, the firewall needs to be configured to allow connections on TCP Ports 58xx and 59xx,
or, at the least, ports 5800 and 5900, in our case.

For more details, read up on these following (links which I have cited before) --

(a2) NetMeeting -- http://www.microsoft.com/windows/NetMeeting/Corp/reskit/Chapter4/default.asp

(b2) VNC -- http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/faq.html#q51
