Sue, I think what Chee-Kai raises above does, indeed, prevent us from using
the files. I recall in our telephone conversations that it was your
intuition that the documents were totally exploitable ... can you find any
exemptions to the above clause that would allow us to work with these files?

The issue as I see it is that clause 2a) includes "information ... from the
Site", unlike the ISO blanket permission for "information" and the
constraints on "the complete document".

I do not have the time to do that in the final ZIP file, but I have taken
the time to create the stylesheet and have tested it and run it with
Draft-7 for anyone to use on any future version.

The package of files is at:

   http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/3739/codelist-external-20031003-1500z.zip

Whoever undertakes to do this step (once Sue or someone else gets back to
us on it) should be able to change the invocation batch file to suit
whatever file names are used in the final version.

If we cannot find permission to use these files, then would anyone know of
XML sources for currency and transport? The XML source for country codes
is at

http://www.iso.org/iso/en/prods-services/iso3166ma/02iso-3166-code-lists/index.html

and since we aren't using the *complete* standard document, we are allowed
to use the XML file according to:

http://www.iso.org/iso/en/commcentre/pressreleases/2003/Ref871.html

I've tested the ISO XML file with the stylesheet in the code list package
above, and it works just fine. Now all we need are exploitable XML files
of all the other code lists we need.

May I please leave this in someone else's hands now? I would be pleased to
revise the stylesheet if any changes are found to be necessary.

Thanks!
