Calendar (http://oasis-open.org/committees/ubl/lsc/calendar.htm)

There is apparently already a UBL submission for XML and Web
Services 2003 17-19 March 2003 in London. Sue Probert is
trying to find out more about this.

Jon Bosak and Sue Probert will submit papers for XML Europe 2003.

Update: UN/CEFACT unification proposal

Jon Bosak gave a brief update on this.

Update: review schedule

Release of the next LC review package is now set for the end of
December rather than the beginning. [This has since slipped to
   13 January.]

The LCSC has received all comments from HL7 and are considering
them this week in the design review.

Spring UBL TC meeting

The LSC resolved to recommend to the UBL TC that the Spring UBL
TC meeting be held in London 28 April through 2 May 2003 (a
4.5-day schedule) in order to co-locate with the XML Europe
2003 conference in London the following week. It was noted
that Easter Sunday falls on 20 April.

Next UBL Liaison SC meeting

Our next Liaison SC meeting will take place 8-9 a.m.
California time Friday 20 December 2003. [*** But see
subsequent message on this subject. ***]

Calendar

TBG2 (procurement) is meeting in Europe next Monday; all TBG
members have been invited. Sue and Mike will try to
participate by phone and will email any news.

Review cycle planning

   ACORD

No meetings in Jan-Mar; next tech meeting is 22-25 June 2003
in Scottsdale. Will try for informal review between
	 meetings.

   ARTS

12-15 Jan 2003: NRF annual convention, Javits Center, NYC

   e.centre

24-27 Feb 2003: EAN.UCC GSMP meeting, Brussels; Sue Probert
may attend. Sue Probert and John Hervey will discuss UBL
representation at this event offline and report back 20
      December.

   EIDX

An EIDX Web Services TC is being formed. A team has signed
up to review UBL and will hold preliminary conference calls.
They will be looking at implementation and interoperability,
specifically betw RosettaNet, OAGIS, and UBL.

It appears that we need to form an implementation and
interoperability SC. Jon Bosak will talk to Bill French
      about this.

10-14 Feb (tentative): Joint EIDX/OAGI plenary, San Jose or
San Diego; UBL will be reviewed at this meeting.

May (TBD): Joint EIDX/AIA plenary, possibly in St. Louis.

   HL7

12-17 Jan 2003: HL7 Working Group meeting, San Antonio

      27 April - 2 May 2003: HL7 Working Group meeting, Cleveland

   NACS

      27 Jan 2003: Tampa, Florida: NACS EB2B working committee;
John Hervey will announce and distribute the review package
and ask for individual feedback during the review cycle

28-30 Apr 2003: NACS technology conference, Dallas; there
will be an EB2B workshop; not for tech work; would be a good
place to make announcements; John will reserve a slot for
UBL; Jon Bosak will find a speaker for this

   RosettaNet

24-26 Feb 2003: RosettaNet board meetings, New York City

   SWIFT

ISO 15022 in DIS review, so no TC meetings for the next six
months. Kris Ketels will send a copy of the DIS to Tim
      McGrath.

   UIG

We will try to handle this during the X12 meeting; Tim will
check with Bob Matsey regarding scheduling.

   VCA

20-23 Mar 2003: VCA meeting, NYC; in process of arranging
      for conference calls Jan-Feb 2003.

   UN

20-24 Jan 2003: ATG meeting, Washington: NDR and schemas
will both be reviewed in ATG2.

10-14 Mar 2003: UN/CEFACT Forum, San Diego: TBG1 would be
right for Despatch Advice and Receipt Advice, TBG2 for the
rest. We plan to raise this with TBG2 at the meeting next
week. We note that Hartmut Hermes has resigned as TBG1
      chair.

   X12

      3-7 Feb UBL/X12 meeting, Denver.

   XBRL

[Due to a mixup in communication, Ray Seddigh, who was
present at the UBL TC meeting, missed the LSC meeting. He
later reported to the chair that he had given a 20-minute
presentation on UBL during the interop panel at the XBRL
conference in Tokyo the preceding week.]

OAG

At Sue Probert's request, Garret Minakawa gave us an update on
OAG. Garret is chairing a CC WG that is going through the OAG
library and forming CCs according to CCTS 1.85, beginning with
address, contact, and party, and hoping to finish these three
within the next couple of weeks. OAGIS 8.1 is targeted for
publication at the end of Q1, and Garret's group is hoping to
get address, contact, and party in that release. This would
include a list of about 20 aggregates (allowance, charge,
employee, message, packaging, etc.) covering about 70 percent
of the OAG library. The group intends to submit this work to
   the UN harmonization process.

Jon Bosak
UBL LSC chair
