Subject: UBL subcommittee reorganization: ubl-lsc
Hello members of the UBL Liaison SC, Effective 1 June 2004, a number of UBL subcommittees, including the Liaison Subcommittee, are ending operation as separate entities. This is part of a major reorganization intended to promote better coordination of the many tasks associated with the UBL effort. For the TC decision and pointers to the discussion leading up to it, see http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200405/msg00036.html http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200405/msg00038.html http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200405/msg00039.html http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200405/msg00044.html The former LSC web page, documents, and mail archives will continue to exist for purposes of reference, but all former members of the SC will be removed from the SC roster in order to deactivate the subcommittee. You will therefore shortly receive a message saying that you have been removed from the SC. This is merely a side-effect of retiring the SC, and it should have no effect on your membership in UBL. Liaisons to UBL from other organizations (including other OASIS TCs) will henceforth report directly to the UBL TC in weekly meetings, which are now held in separate sessions for the convenience of members in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Since you are on the UBL TC mailing list, you should be receiving weekly notices of these meetings. It is the hope of the TC that all current liaisons will continue in this role and will attend the appropriate weekly TC meeting to continue the working relationship between UBL and the organizations they represent. Jon Bosak Chair, OASIS UBL TC
