Subject: Minutes of the UBL SSC Call 31st March 2005
[Minutes attached/below]
Minutes of the UBL Software Sub-Committee Teleconference Call 31st March 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attendance: Tony Coates Stephen Green David Kruppke Sylvia Webb Apologies: Anne Hendry Atlantic TC Call Report (SW/SG): The Atlantic calls for the next three weeks would cover the NDR/1.1 Schema generation issues. SSC members were requested to attend when possible. There may be scope for some to attend the TC meetings rather than the SSC meetings but we would wait to see how necessary SSC meetings will be in this three weeks - there may be some need for SSC to separately review what was decided by the TC. SG would try to summarise the issues in a spreadsheet and this might help other groups following the developments too. Schema generation report (DK): The likely completion date would be Monday or Tuesday. DK would send the Schemas with a covering email to the UBL list. The issue previously reported as over rule CTD20 is actually broader than this rule and applies to all UBL 1.0 complexTypes which do not include the qualifier in the name and may therefore be incorrect: Should these be changed in 1.1? Schema sets both with and without the change will be made to help the TC/NDR team consider this. The UBLAmount it seems is the only item which requires hand editing of the Edifix model, the rest of the data comes from spreadhseets which are imported prior to Schema generation. The process works in two stages - first the model spreadhseets are imported and the spreadhseet data is recast as the Edifix model then secondly (after any hand editing in the Edifix model which is necessary, e.g. for the UBLAmount SDT's supplememtary components) the Schemas are generated from the Edifix model with the data which was imported from the spreadsheets. Codelists (TC): Some of the issues being considered may lead to changes for UBL 2.0. TC thought that any changes for 1.1 would likely be small. SG pointed out that changes requested after 22nd April would be at David's discretion as to whether they were implemented in 1.1 since they might require more change to the Schema generator than would be feasible beyond 1st June. (see agreement note below) Schema generation: It was agreed that SSC's contingency, in case codelist decisions were not made by 22nd April, for codelists would be to recreate every codelist Schema under the 1.1 namespace but not to decide about the possibility of using XSD extension in them (where appropriate) until the decisions were made by NDR Team/TC about VER8 and VER9. Schedule for 1.1 Schema generation: April 6/13/20 - Atlantic TC calls to come to agreements about the UBL 1.1 Schemas 22nd April 2005 - Deadline for TC/NDR decisions set (several away last week of April) Last week April - SG puts together a list of such decisions and rules First week May - SW creates a summarising spreadsheet list of actual tasks for development Second week May - DK starts development for Schema generation 1st June - target date for UBL 1.1 Edifix Schema generator implementation The meeting next week is scheduled for the usual time (all daylight hour time zones synchronised)
