DRAFT MINUTES OF TRANSPORT SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING

1415 - 1600 (Singapore time) WEDNESDAY 31 AUGUST 2005

   Tim McGrath

   Ralph (DTTN)

   Jern-Kuan, Leong (CrimsonLogic)

REVIEW OF THE CONSIGNMENT AND GOODSITEM MAPPING BETWEEN COML & DTTN MODEL

Discussed the COML Consignment and DTTN ShipmentSummary components. A number of COML’s ABIEs like Remarks, LoadingPort, DischargePort, OriginCountry, DestinationCountry, SeaTransportIdentification, AirTransportIdentification, RoadTransportIdentification and RailTransportIdentification have an equivalent mapping in DTTN model.

However, there are no corresponding BIE in COML for several BIEs in DTTN like EarliestArrivalDate, TransportMode and TranshipmentTransportLocation. More review needs to be done.

In the DTTN model, the TransportMeansIdentification is being used to identify the transport mean, whereas in COML, explicit BIE has been created, like SeaTransportIdentification.

For AdditionalQualifiedTransportLocation, we may have to go for the 80/20 rule and review further if this fits into this rule. It was felt that this could likely be a customization of the base Transport model.

There is a need to describe what each BIE represents in the DTTN model.

There is close link between COML’s GoodsItem and DTTN’s ConsignmentLineItem, e.g.   ConsignmentLineItem's ConsigneLineItemID is equivalent of GoodsItem's SequenceID and DTTN's CustomsDeclareedValueItem equivalent to COML's DeclaredCustomsValueItem. SubItem vs ContainedGoodsItem.

COML’s Consignment and GoodsItem name follows closely with UN/CEFACT TBG17’s component name.

OTHER BUSINESS

UBL had sent out a suggestion on DigitalSignature on UBL list. CrimsonLogic and DTTN has been asked to whether the solution is satisfactory.

UBL TSC is asked to attend the UBL TC meeting to report on the progress. The chairperson mentioned that he will make arrangement for either himself or the TSC editor to join the call to report the progress.

Tim  updated that he will be attending the next UN/CEFACT Forum meeting to meet up with the management to reach some agreement on the next step for the UBL transition to UN/CEFACT.
