Subject: Draft Minutes of Transport Subcommittee Call 14 September 2005

Please review the minutes and notify me of any additions or corrections. We will approve them at the next SC meeting.

MINUTES OF TRANSPORT SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING

1500-1600 (Singapore time) WEDNESDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2005

ATTENDANCE

   Kama (chair)

   Tim McGrath

   Ng Siew Wai (CEID)

   Jern-Kuan, Leong (CrimsonLogic)

   Grace Ng (CrimsonLogic)

1.       Review conducted on the high-level amended Transport Model that lists the major components of CONSIGNMENT, which was harmonize between the COML and DTTN models.

(a)    New components added to the Transport Model:

i.                     Shipment

ii.                   Port

iii.                  Package

(b)    Terminology of ‘Arrival’ component was changed to ‘Delivery’.  However, it was highlighted that there’s already a component in UBL with the name ‘Delivery’ within the ‘Shipment’ component.

(c)    It was highlighted that ‘Consignor’ and ‘Consignee’ party component will be place within ‘Consignment’ as it is reflective of a consignment shipment for a business document (e.g. Certificate of Origin, Bill of Lading).  However, it was suggested that it would be more appropriate to place ‘Seller Party’ and ‘Buyer Party’ component in ‘CertificateOfOriginApplication’ component rather and ‘Consignment’.

(d)    As it can get rather confusing, it’ll be good for UBL to define under UBL2.0 release the definition of ‘Consignor’ vs ‘Seller Party’, ‘Consignee’ vs ‘Buyer Party’.

(e)    ‘Invoice Line Item’ will remain as a component of ‘Goods Item’ as it is needed by COML, instead of merging with ‘Order Line Item’.

(f)     It was suggested that ‘Order Line Item’ component may be the same as ‘Item’ component in UBL.  Tim will discuss with Thomas/Ralph on the naming of this component.

(g)    To remove ‘Producer Party’ from ‘CertofOrginApplication’ component as it is not needed.  It is more appropriate to use ‘Manufacturer Party’ that is currently available in ‘Item’ component.  As there’s a need to represent 1 manufacturer party for all the items in 1 consignment, a ‘Manufacturer Party’ component may be added to ‘Consignment’ level as well.
