Subject: Establishing the Japanese Localization Subcommittee (JPLSC)
UBL members, On 15 October 2003 I alerted you that I would be proposing the formation of two new UBL subcommittees devoted to localization: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200310/msg00010.html Rules for the conduct of UBL localization subcommittees have been proposed: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200311/msg00006.html The resolution creating the Japanese Localization SC is given below. If you have no objection to its adoption, do nothing. If you are a voting member of the UBL TC and you object to the adoption of this resolution, please register that objection with mail to the list ubl@lists.oasis-open.org no later than COB 17 November 2003. The JPLSC is currently recruiting members and, in fact, several highly qualified people have already committed to the work. I have omitted their names from this proposed resolution because they are still in the process of obtaining OASIS membership. Additional members are of course actively solicited for this work and will be added following our usual rules for technical subcommittees. Jon Bosak Chair, OASIS UBL TC ================================================================== ESTABLISHMENT OF THE UBL JAPANESE LOCALIZATION SUBCOMMITTEE (JPLSC) Resolved, 1. That a UBL Japanese Localization Subcommittee (JPLSC) be created with the purpose, deliverables, and mode of operation specified in the UBL Rules for the Conduct of Localization Subcommittees. 2. That the target language of the JPLSC shall be Japanese. 3. That the chair of the JPLSC shall be Noboru Itoh of the East Asia Electronic Commerce Association (EA-ECA), and the vice chair of the JPLSC shall be Yukinori Saito of the Electronic Commerce Promotion Council of Japan (ECOM).
