I am sorry David and Sylvia I misunderstood your question.  This issue appears to have slipped through the net.  It is still pending and both myself and David have our names on it.

To be consistent with other changes of this sort (18.6, 18.7 and 18.8) the I suggest the definition should be changed to:

"Provides a means of associating an Invoice (optionally) with one or more <document reference>s"

The same principle applies to DespatchAdvice/OrderReference and ReceiptAdvice/OrderReference.

I suggest the spreadsheet changes get made during the QA next week.

All,

This is not a new item. It is from the pending issues on the last issue
list submitted by Anne. We decided that we should change the definition by
removing the words "one or more" because the ASBIE is optional, and it
conflicts with the cardinality of 0..n.

David's point that a definition that says "zero or more" does not make sense
is valid. Since we have already agreed in both the Atlantic and Pacific
meetings to change this, David needs to know what definition he should
include.

Sylvia

I can see where your logic is coming from here David, but this argument
leaves us no way of specifying whether an ASBIE is mandatory or optional.

We currently use the cardinaility of 0 to show optionality.

As anee says we will probably find some more of these defintion errors,
which relate back to when we decided to make many associations optional
- but forgot to change their definitions.

Hi All,

h.2 concerns the definition of the ASBIE OrderReference,
DespatchDocumentReference and ReceiptDocumentReference in ABIE Invoice.

The current definition is the following:

"Provides a means of associating an Invoice with one or more
Orders(Despatch Advices/Receipt Advices)"

I think it is OK to say "one or more" although the cardinality is 0..n.
If the ASBIE is used then it associates the invoice to at least one
Order, DespatchDocumentReference or ReceiptDocumentReference. Otherwise
it is not used. It cannot associate the invoice to zero references.

Please compare the definitions of ReceiptAdvice/OrderReference and
DespatchAdvice/OrderReference.

Please answer to kruppke@gefeg.com, too.
