Subject: Minutes of Pacific UBL TC call 17|18 January 2005
MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING 00H30 - 02H30 UTC TUESDAY 18 JANUARY 2005 ATTENDANCE Jon Bosak (chair) Micah Dubinko Betty Harvey Tim McGrath Sylvia Webb STANDING ITEMS Additions to the calendar (http://ibiblio.org/bosak/ubl/calendar.htm) None. Liaison reports None. Subcommittee reports SSC (SylviaW): Met last week; reorganizing and focusing on 1.1; nothing significant to report. HISC (MicahD): Had a call last week; think we have a good game plan. Team reports None. ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION THIS MEETING Questions from Altova: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200501/msg00022.html Regarding file extensions: The question implies that there is just one UBL doctype, which is not the case. We used ".xml" for our sample instances, and this should probably be the default. Regarding document templates: Again, we have several doctypes in UBL, not just one. Altova probably wants something similar to our sample instances, but none of them (indeed, probably no real-world instance) contains all of the possible elements. We think something like the small-business profile that StephenG and GKenH have been working on is what would be most appropriate for this. Regarding the catalog: We believe that Altova is referring to the SGML Open catalog, which associates public identifiers with physical locations (and therefore allows Altova to ship just the URLs, not the schemas themselves). JonB to put Altova in contact with StephenG regarding the small-business profile. JonB to point Altova to the canonical schema locations on the OASIS site. CONTENT WORK SESSION The work session continued under the direction of TimM. BettyH has recorded the outcomes in the content issues list; they are noted here for people following this through the minutes. All of these items relate to requests from the Swedish Association of Local Authorities. With regard to DeliveryInformation, we will seek more information (is this equivalent to existing DeliveryTerms?). Agreed: We accept InvoicingPeriod as a new ASBIE in Invoice with cardinality of 0..1. Agreed: We accept the proposed "InitialInvoiceDocumentReference" as a new ASBIE in Invoice with cardinality of 0..n, but we do not accept the proposed name; we have tentatively named this new ASBIE "PreviousInvoiceDocumentReference" pending further discussion. Agreed: We accept the proposed "RequisitionistDocumentReference" as a new BBIE in InvoiceLine with cardinality of 0..1, but we have named this new BBIE "RequisitionistIdentifier". Regarding the proposed AllowanceChargeBaseAmount, we think we have all the information we need from the proposers; now we need to assess the taxation reporting implications outside of Europe. Regarding the proposed TaxCurrencyTaxAmount, we wonder whether this applies outside of Europe; we will study the IDA analysis to gain a better understanding of the requirements. JonB to put TimM in contact with the IDA/CEN invoicing project. The Pacific TC call will occur as scheduled next week, with the first part of the meeting devoted to a discussion of the draft multilingual UBL data dictionary: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200501/msg00023.html Jon Bosak Chair, OASIS UBL TC
