Subject: RE: [ubl] Understanding code list declarations
These are the words that Sylvia, Mavis and I came up with in NYC. "UBL's use of the UN/CEFACT Unqualified Datatype schema module is primarily confined to its importation. It must not be assumed that UBL's adoption of the UDT schema module extends to any of ATG's rules that have a bearing on the use of the UDT. The agreement below does not make this distinction and this is where we need clarification. We agreed in Manhattan that UBL *would* use ATG2 NDR for the uDT schema module. From the minutes: AGREED that in the interests of convergence we will stand by our decision to import the ATG2 UDT, despite the fact that we believe it to be the wrong approach to code list management, and will document the negative consequences of adopting the ATG2 UDT schema for the information of users.
