UPDATE PACKAGE: JPLSC COMMENTS

   ACTION (12/18): TM to resend points together with proposed
   solutions.

      TM: Done; the proposals time out today.

      JB: Will start plugging them into the list of changes for
      the Update Package.

   ACTION (12/18): AS to get answer from TSC regarding JPLSC
   comment 25.

      The comment says:

         The definitions of Shipment (ASBIE) in BillOfLading and
         Waybill are differrent each other, We think that these
         definitions should be same.  Definition (BillOfLading):
         Information about the separately identifiable collection
         of goods items (available to be) transported from one
         consignor to one consignee via one or more modes of
         transport.  Definition (Waybill): A separately
         identifiable collection of goods items (available to be)
         transported from one consignor to one consignee via one
         or more modes of transport.

      TM: This was discussed extensively in the TSC prior to
      release of 2.0.  Neither definition is quite right.

      ACTION: TM to send notes to AS; AS to propose wording to the
      TSC mailing list with seven-day timeout.

UPDATE PACKAGE: SCHEDULE

   ACTION (1/8): JB to revise the work schedule spreadsheet.

      Pending.

UBL 2.1 ISSUES LIST

   ACTION (12/18): TM to populate the new issues list with all
   currently known UBL 2.1 issues.

      Pending.

MANHATTAN MEETING PLANNING

   Location

      Sun Microsystems offices in Manhattan at 101 Park Avenue
      (Park at 40th Street).

   Preliminary schedule (from Pacific call)

      Monday morning: opening plenary
      Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning: breakouts
      Wednesday afternoon: Plenary discussion of Customization
         Guidelines
      Thursday morning: breakouts
      Thursday afternoon: closing plenary + wine & cheese
      Friday morning: work session for North American participants

      AGREED to hold another plenary session Thursday morning to
      brief TM on Wednesday afternoon's work.

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to provide feedback on UBL 2.0 SBS 2.0:

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to summarize business rules that are (1)
   wanted in UBL but not allowed by [i.e., capable of being
   addressed by] the NDR (e.g., requirement to include one of
   PartyName and PartyIdentifier but not both) and (2) data items
   whose constraints are inherited from another standard (e.g.,
   lengths of data items specified by UNTDED); the rules so
   identified to become candidates for a list of schematron
   assertions "recommended to be included" (final characterization
   TBD).
