MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING

   Additions to the calendar:

      TM: OASIS Open Standards 2008 Symposium, 28 April - 1 May
      2008 in Santa Clara.  On 28 April, TM will present a
      half-day tutorial (free to symposium registrants) on
      "Composing Meaningful Documents with UBL."

   Liaison reports

      TM/AS: AS continues to participate in weekly TBG17 meetings.
      UBL will be represented by Tommy Lyons and Martin Forsberg
      at the interim TBG17 meeting in Long Beach 18-22 February.
      The UBL-TBG17 Task Force will meet Thursday to discuss
      timing of the UBL alignment with the emerging UN/CEFACT Core
      Component Library.

   Review of Atlantic call 16 January

      No comments.

   Support page submissions

      None this week.

UPDATE PACKAGE STATUS REPORT AND SCHEDULING

   ACTION (12/18): AS to get answer from TSC regarding JPLSC
   comment 25.

      Done.

   ACTION (1/8): JB to revise the work schedule spreadsheet.

      Pending.

   Work schedule: By this time next week, GKH to have completed
   cross-check between corrected spreadsheets and corrected
   schemas; TM to have completed review of change list.

UBL 2.1 ISSUES LIST

   ACTION (12/18): TM to populate the new issues list with all
   currently known UBL 2.1 issues.

      Pending.

PLANNING FOR THE TC MEETING IN BOLOGNA

   Starting to make arrangements for 14-18 April 2008 in Bologna.

   TM will chair; GKH attendance sure, AS attendance possible.
   Format will be: Opening plenary Monday morning, closing plenary
   Thursday afternoon, possible work session Friday.

   ACTION: JB to assemble logistical information in hand so far.

2008 TC MEETING SCHEDULE

   4-8 August 2008 in Montréal

      Confirmed.  Hotel Europa, rue Drummond (the week prior to
      the Balisage conference in the same location).

   January 2009 in Fremantle

      Still tentative.

TC CONCALL SCHEDULE

   No cancellations foreseen for the next couple of months, though
   work items usually handled in the Pacific call may be shifted
   to the Atlantic call due to TM's extended sojourn in Europe.

   TM: Will be in HK till 22 February, so will attend Pacific call
   next week.

   JB: Note that there will be no UBL TC calls the weeks of 7, 14,
   and 21 April due to the UBL TC F2F in Bologna.

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to provide feedback on UBL 2.0 SBS 2.0:

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to summarize business rules that are (1)
   wanted in UBL but not allowed by [i.e., capable of being
   addressed by] the NDR (e.g., requirement to include one of
   PartyName and PartyIdentifier but not both) and (2) data items
   whose constraints are inherited from another standard (e.g.,
   lengths of data items specified by UNTDED); the rules so
   identified to become candidates for a list of schematron
   assertions "recommended to be included" (final characterization
   TBD).
