MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING MONDAY 23 MAY 2011

    Review of Atlantic call minutes

       No comments.

UBL 2.1 PRD2 STATUS

    An initial draft has been posted:

    JB: We are expecting the missing ASN.1 files in time to produce a
    candidate PRD2 by Wednesday and hope to begin a vote soon thereafter.

    AS: Partial comments on the initial draft:

       For correction in PRD2:

          In 2.14: Need an explicit reference to Figure 55.

          The order of subsections in 2.14 should be the same as in
          Figure 55 (Forwarding Instructions, Packing List, Bill of
          Lading, Waybill).

          There should be a forward reference in 2.14 to Transportation
          Status (shown in Figure 55 but not mentioned till section
          2.16).

          The last sentence of 2.14.3 [Waybill] should read "between a
          transport service buyer and a transport service provider" (NOT
          transport service seller).

          The entry for Transport Progress Status in 2.18 should read
          "giving a status on the transport means" (not transport
          STATUS).

       For disposition in PRD3:

          In 2.15, the first paragraph doesn't mention air; is this
          intentional?

             ACTION: AS to ask Audun.

          Figures 57 and 59 are lacking labels for source and
          destination, and in Figure 59, "TU" and "TSP" need to be
          spelled out.

             ACTION: AS to ask Audun for revisions.

          In section 2.15.5, the name "Transport Progress Status" needs
          further discussion.

          The language in 2.16 needs to reflect a federated distribution
          of status (not just the freight forwarder).

          The entry for Certificate of Origin in 2.18 needs to amplify
          the difference between the UBL COO document type and an actual
          COO.  The current description does not explain this.

          The entry for Transportation Status in 2.18 needs to reflect
          the federated distribution of status.

          The third paragraph in 2.19 mentions "qualifying party," but no
          such entry appears on the following table; also, there is no
          mention of the party whose role is Transportation Network
          Manager or Transport Regulator.

       AS will have further comments when he finishes his review.
