Subject: 15-day Public Review for Business Document Naming and Design Rules V1.0 and UBL Naming and Design Rules V3.0 - end July 1st

OASIS members and other interested parties,

The OASIS Universal Business Language (UBL) TC members [1] have produced an updated Committee Specification Draft (CSD) and an updated Committee Note Draft and submitted them for 15-day public review:

Business Document Naming and Design Rules Version 1.0
Committee Specification Draft 02 / Public Review Draft 02
01 June 2016

and

UBL Naming and Design Rules Version 3.0
Committee Note Draft 02 / Public Review Draft 02
01 June 2016

Specification Overview:

Business Document Naming and Design Rules Version 1.0 prescribes a set of naming and design rules used to create XML document model validation artefacts (W3C Schema XSD files and OASIS Context/value association files) associated with abstract information bundles formally described using the Core Component Technical Specification 2.01 [CCTS].

UBL Naming and Design Rules Version 3.0 describes the application of the OASIS Business Document Naming and Design Rules (NDR) to the OASIS UBL 2.1 specification.

About the TC:

The OASIS Universal Business Language technical committee is defining a royalty-free library of standard electronic XML business documents for various domains. Development is with participation from a variety of industry data standards organizations. UBL is designed to plug directly into existing business, legal, auditing, and records management practices, eliminating the re-keying of data in existing fax- and paper-based supply chains and providing an entry point into electronic  commerce for small and medium-sized businesses.

Public Review Period:

The public review starts 17 June 2016 at 00:00 UTC and ends 01 July 2016 at 11:59 UTC. These drafts were previously submitted for public review [2].

This is an open invitation to comment. OASIS solicits feedback from potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the sake of improving the interoperability and quality of its technical work.
