Subject: Re: [ubl] [OASIS Issue Tracker] (UBL-2) Documents for party information exchange

It looks there is not a Yellow Pages data exchange standard yet... UBL could be the basis for this ?

A business card specification (vcard) exists and is based on several RFCs and variants... with an xml version (xcard) but it is not exactly describing a Business Party... it is more similar to an UBL Person:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VCard

There are some generic address book formats such as:
  1. Eudora Pro or Light Address Book (through v3.0)
  2. LDIF - LDAP Data Interchange Format
  3. Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book
  4. Microsoft Internet Mail for Windows 3.1 Address Book
  5. Netscape Address Book (v2 or v3)
  6. Netscape Communicator Address Book (v4)
  7. Text File (comma Separated Values)
  8. Business Card (vCard)
Most of these are not xml-based, and I think the UBL Party is a better candidate for exchanging business party information for business registries, yellow pages, address books, ... so on.
The audience could be huge.
