George, SC: While I have no objection to what you're trying to do with this action, I should point out that both the number of seats on the SC as well as the new schedule for voting are changes to the language of the member section RoP which says: >>> Within one year of the formation of the Member Section and every year thereafter, the Steering Committee will conduct elections for a new Steering Committee. These elections will be held during the week of June 15, 2003. The number of seats will be set at seven, with a maximum of one representative from any member organization. <<< Formally, this change should be approved by the OASIS Board, as the Board owns your RoP. I didn't know that you were going to conduct this ballot so didn't have time to raise this with the Board at their meeting last Thursday. The next Board meeting isn't until 30 July, but Patrick can look into getting approval before then. I doubt that the Board will have objections to allowing the RoP to be changed in this regard, but it will take a little while to formally effect this.
