By the way, looking even further ahead than JAX-RPC 1.1, a new JAX-RPC 2.0 is currently being developed (which will probably end up in J2EE 1.5). JAX-RPC 2.0 will not define XML Schema mappings any more, but will rely instead on JAXB to do that. In particular, JAXB 2.0 (being developed in parallel with JAX-RPC 2.0) will try to do a complete mapping of Java to Schema and vice versa, adding some Schema types that are still missing in JAXB 1.0.
